I like it. Tell me more.
Well, did we mention this was going to be fun? All you need to do is show up (on time!) in Wimberley or New Braunfels (for shorter ride option) on Saturday, June 12th with your bike, gear, swimsuit, and cooler full of drinks. We’ll take care of the logistics from start to finish.
What are the course options?
You can choose the 25, 50 or 60 mile course option. The courses show off the best of the Texas Hill Country. Texas Longhorns, creek beds, ranches, and a few hills! Please click HERE for course maps and logs.
How do I get back to my car at the Wimberley start?
Well, by choosing the shuttle option in registration for an extra $20 you are securing yourself and your bike a seat back to the start. Keep in mind that the shuttle can only accommodate the first 500 registrants who sign up for it, so don’t wait!
What happens in the case of severe weather?
This is a Rain or shine event! There will be no refunds or transfers!
Can I ride and not tube?
Yawn – that’s a little boring but it’s cool. If all you’re looking for is a well-organized, fully supported bike ride and a great BBQ meal, there is an option during the registration process for riding without toobin’.
Can my friend tube with me and not ride?
What?! Where’s their bike?
Okay - If a participant would like a companion(s) on the float with them, then yes, they may purchase extra tubes for friends/family during the event registration process for $10 each. Additional tubes will be available for purchase at Rockin’ R the day of the event, but at retail price. Buying sooner is better!
What if I decide to take a shuttle at a later date, after I’ve already registered for the event?
No problem. Simply email info@shammiesnkoozies.com and we’ll put you on the list. Please bring $20 (check or cash) when you pick up your packet to receive the shuttle wristband. The shuttle back to Wimberley is limited to 500 folks – buying sooner is better!
How is the course support?
Bicycle Sport Shop is on top of it. Those guys are bigtime. BSS will be trolling the course and will be at your service (literally) to change any flat tires, provide lube (get your mind out of the gutter), etc.
All courses will have a rest stop roughly every 15-20 miles. Here you will get food, drink, mechanical support and fun times. There will also be SAG vehicles along the course that can transport you to the next rest stop, or to the finish if you so choose.
I don’t ride and don’t feel like being in a swimsuit. How do I volunteer?
No event would be successful without a wealth of dedicated volunteers. Check out all volunteer opportunities HERE.
